Summer in the Gulf: five minutes of filter care that keeps the air clean

Between June and September, homes across the Gulf run air conditioning around the clock and windows stay shut. Indoor air quality depends entirely on filters — and filters in this region fill with fine dust far faster than the intervals printed in manuals written for Europe.

For an H13 True HEPA unit such as the RADOCO RD-H10 (CADR 140 m³/h), the pre-filter should be vacuumed every two weeks in summer and the HEPA-plus-carbon cartridge replaced every 4–6 months rather than the usual 8–12. A blocked filter does not just clean less; it forces the fan to work harder and raises noise.

Sizing matters too. CADR — clean air delivery rate — should be at least five times the room volume per hour for a bedroom. A 140 m³/h unit suits rooms up to about 20 m² with a standard ceiling; larger living rooms need a second unit or a higher-CADR model.

Split air conditioners need the same attention: the washable mesh filters behind the indoor unit's front panel should be rinsed monthly in summer. RADOCO's upcoming RD-AC24-MD includes a filter-clean reminder on the remote for exactly this reason.
